While browsing online for sexy images (as you do) for an article we where writing, we came across fitness model Jessica Bennett. We immediately started following her on twitter and started tweeting her in the hope that she would follow us and tweet us back. Not only did we managed to sweet talk her into following us, we also managed to talk her into writing us a weekly blog. Her first blog is called “Internet trolls – how not to approach a chick on line” and will be featured on ladswishlist.com shortly.
In the meantime read our interview with Jessica below, and get your note pads ready, because Jessica is single and we asked her the dating questions, you would all want to know.
How did you get into fitness and modelling?
I started as a teenager working in various PR roles to gain experience before securing contracts with model agents. I’ve always been sporty, athletic and an outdoorsy girl, I discovered weight training and fell head over heels, retrained as a Personal Trainer and Sports Nutritionist and decided to compete and move over to fitness modelling.
Whats been the highlight of your career so far?
Starting my own business Diva Body Design by Jessica Bennett.
Do you think that men are intimidated with your athletic physique?
Men outside the fitness/sports industry I’d say yes, or guys who don’t train but guys into training generally appreciate the look and the dedication.
What’s the hardest part of keeping your body in such good shape? The lifestyle on the whole isn’t easy, but it becomes second nature over time, I guess I’m lucky that I LOVE what I do. When preparing for a show the weeks preceding are hard when your diet becomes more restricted, calories decreased with workload increased, that’s when you need to dig deep to dial in.
3 tips for staying healthy. For the general public looking to make initial changes:
- Avoid processed foods Increase your protein intake
- Include protein in every meal and snack, drinking 3-5 litres of water a day
- Find exercise that you enjoy, its sustainable and you’re more likely to stick to it
Dating questions: Is it ok for a women to ask a man on a 1st date?
Definitely!! If I see something I want, I go get it, hunt or be hunted.
Name one thing a girl should never do on a 1st date?
Tell us 1 do and 1 don’t do on a 1st date?
Do- Be yourself (unless your an idiot, then be someone else) Don’t- Get so smashed you get put to bed before 9pm (not a great look)
Do you have a girl code? Absolutely… I could tell you, but I’d have to kill you.
Name 3 places you would like someone to take you on a 1st date.
Sky Diving, Formula 1 but if I’m going to be conventional, a nice restaurant with flowing conversation.
What features do you look for in a guy?
He has to lift, bonus if he’s an athlete! I’m 5’10 so tall is must! Humour, laughter is my number one favourite thing, I love to banter so he needs to make me smile and not take himself too seriously. I’m really attracted to smart guys, its important to be being able to connect on an intellectual level as well as physical.
Biggest misconception about the opposite sex – That this is a mans world 😉
Finish these sentences
If a date was going really badly I would… Politely say “Don’t call me, I’ll call you” and leave (quickly)
If I really like a guy I could possibly… Give him my ‘actual’ phone number.
On a first date. I would never… Tell somebody I love them (EVER)
