Some of you will be like me and forever wondering what it would be like to own and drive a car like the McLaren P1 GTR.
I want to own and drive the McLaren P1 GTR with alacrity. I don’t think I have ever been so keen, willing or excited about the thought of owning a car as much as I am about the McLaren P1 GTR.
Ok, yes I will admit that I fantasized many a times about the original P1 which come to life in 2013 and featured engineering that McLaren declared as “designed, engineered and built to be the best driver’s car in the world”.
I remember driving past the McLaren showroom Knightsbridge and always having to slow down to check out the cars in the display windows and I wasn’t the only person doing it, nearly every vehicle that drove past the McLaren showroom would slowdown. People done the same thing too, you would see the passers by literally stop and stare at the revolving platform showcasing the visually spectacular McLaren P1 GTR. Everyone at the windows taking photographs and selfies.
The McLaren P1 GTR is simply awe-inspiring. Even the thought of such a super car is enough to make any man or women’s mind shoot into oblivion. It’s not just the car that changes your thought process, its the lifestyle that goes along with the ability of owning such a car. The lifestyle of fast cars, women, sex, parties. The ability to date people like Ramsey from Fast & Furious 7.
The McLaren P1 GTR isn’t for us mere mortals, its for the top of the top of the top. I’m referring to a select few, 375 people on the planet to be precise, as the McLaren P1 GTR is only available to previous owners of the original P1.
With a price tag of £1.98million, you can see why only a select few will ever get a chance to own or drive such a super car. Does this make me jealous? Yes it does, but what can I say? How do you compete with those 375 people on the planet that will get to own this car? Even some of the richest people on the planet will never get to own this car and if they can’t, who am I to complain eh?
All that’s left for me to do is to write about it, dream about it and hope that one day something drastic happens in my life that allows me to be along the privileged few that will own this super car.
I haven’t even mentioned the specs and Im not quite sure the specs are that important, yes it has a 3.8-litre, twin turbo V8 petrol engine which produces a spectacular 986bhp allowing it to achieve top speeds of almost 220mph. However when it comes to cars like this, the specs are simply numbers, what we really want is information like this handy graphic below showcasing the McLaren P1 GTR in its best light.
Did you know that the first McLaren to use the GTR moniker was the McLaren F1 GTR that won the 1995 Le Mans 24 Hours?
